JOB TITLE: WAREHOUSE TECHNICIAN
DEPARTMENT: WAREHOUSE
DIRECT REPORT: WAREHOUSE LEAD

PURPOSE:

Reporting to the Warehouse Lead, the Warehouse Technician is responsible for ensuring successful ARAMARK Remote Services warehouse operations by providing general labourer support to the Warehouse department.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Stock shelves and bins, pick and package warehouse grocery orders.
2. Receive, unpack, check and verify store merchandise or materials for all warehouse orders including: grocery, small wares, and parts.
3. Fill warehouse material requisitions and orders.
4. Pack, crate, and ship products and materials to ARAMARK Remote Services locations and required destinations.
5. Operate warehouse machinery, such as fork lift, pallet jack, or hand truck in order to carry out specific job requirements.

SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:

1. Comply with all WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and Food Safe standards.
2. Comply with all ARAMARK Remote Services policies and procedures.
3. Any other duties as assigned by Warehouse Lead.

INTERACTION WITH PATRONS AND PUBLIC:

The Warehouse Technician provides respectful and courteous service to all ARAMARK Remote Services clients and employees. Interaction and communication with clients and employees may be carried out by telephone, in person or by written communication.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

Warehouse Technicians are required to perform a variety of physical duties within the position. A list of general physical requirements is provided below:

• Must be able to lift, carry, or pull up to 25 kilograms.
• Ability to climb ladders or stairs.
• Do a combination of standing, walking, squatting, kneeling or sitting.
• Ability to perform repetitive hand work, which requires full use of both hands.
• Ability to work with arms above shoulder height.


WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:

Warehouse Technicians work primarily indoors in warehouse environments, but may also work outdoors in all weather conditions. Physical actions such as: lifting, bending and squatting are required to accomplish tasks. The work is physically demanding; Warehouse Technicians often are on their feet all day, and are required to lift items that weigh up to 25 kilograms.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:

1. Forklift certification and training an asset.
2. Warehouse Technicians must possess good communication, interpersonal and organization skills.
3. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision.
4. Warehouse Technicians must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned.
5. Must have 1 or more years experience in a related field. Retail or food/grocery experience is desired.
6. Graduation from High School or equivalent is required.
7. WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification is an asset.
8. First Aid certification is an asset.
9. Knowledge of all ARAMARK Remote Services policies and procedures.
