JOB TITLE: MAINTENANCE – LARGE CAMP DEPARTMENT: HOUSING DIRECT REPORT: CAMP MANAGER (OPERATIONS MANAGER IF CM NOT AVAILABLE)
PURPOSE:
A big part of Aramark Remote Services is our housekeeping and camp maintenance. The importance of a clean and well-maintained camp should never be underestimated. First impressions of any camp are made when the customer or visitor opens the door and steps inside. Even before that, as the camp is approached from the road, the general condition of the lease site and exterior of the camp are influencing the visitor’s impressions of us. Reporting to the Camp Manager (Operations Manager if the Camp Manager is unavailable) the Maintenance position is a non-supervisory role, responsible for the overall preventative and daily maintenance of all Aramark Remote Services equipment and facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Meet daily Camp Manager to discuss any duties or requirements that need to be completed on the Aramark Remote Services Facility. 2. Complete maintenance inspections daily as per maintenance reports. Ensure that all Aramark Remote Services equipment and building structures have been thoroughly inspected for deficiencies. 3. Ensure scheduled preventative maintenance and repairs are made to all equipment and structures. This will include any emergency repairs or maintenance at any time, 24 hours a day. 4. Maintenance and repair duties will include, but are not limited to: Generator Maintenance Furnace Maintenance Plumbing Maintenance Electrical Maintenance Carpentry Kitchen Equipment Maintenance Water and Sewage System Maintenance Snow Clearing 5. Keep accurate record and inventory of all maintenance supplies and ordered materials. 6. Maintain the overall appearance and safety of all Aramark Remote Services equipment and structures. Ensure that all safety policies and procedures are followed.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the shut-down of each Aramark facility when required. This will include, but is not limited to: inventory reports, overall cleaning duties. 2. Comply with all WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and Food Safe standards. 3. Comply with all Aramark Remote Services policies and procedures. 4. Any other duties as assigned by Camp Manager, Operations Manager, or Human Resources Coordinator.

INTERACTION WITH PATRONS AND PUBLIC:
The Maintenance Worker provides respectful and courteous service to all Aramark Remote Services clients and employees. Interaction and communication with clients and employees may be carried out by telephone, in person or by written communication.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Maintenance Workers are required to perform a variety of physical duties within the position. A list of general physical requirements is provided below:
• Must be able to lift, carry, or pull up to 100 lbs. • Ability to climb ladders or stairs • Do a combination of standing, walking, squatting, kneeling or sitting. • Ability to perform repetitive hand work, which requires full use of both hands • Ability to work with arms above shoulder height
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
All Maintenance Workers are required to work on a rotational schedule. Hours worked will transpire during weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. This position may be required to work split shifts. Maintenance Workers generally work in a very remote location where there is limited access to and from the Aramark Remote Services facility with extended travel to and from site. Travel to and from site will be provided by Aramark. Maintenance Workers will be required to perform duties in indoor and outdoor working conditions. Maintenance Workers primarily work alone with little or no supervision.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Maintenance Workers must possess good communication, interpersonal and organization skills. 2. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision. 3. Maintenance Workers must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned. 4. Maintenance Workers must have 4 or more years experience in a related field of work, preferably the camp catering environment. 5. Maintenance Workers must be fluent and literate in the English language. 6. Journeyman or Red Seal Certification in a maintenance trade of field is preferred. 7. WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification is mandatory 8. First Aid certification is an asset. 9. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), Basic, and Advanced Food Safe training job or site specific. 10. Knowledge of all Aramark Remote Services policies and procedures
