JOB TITLE: CLERK-COMMISSARY-LARGE CAMP DEPARTMENT: HOUSING DIRECT REPORT: CAMP MANAGER
PURPOSE:
A big part of ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services is our Administration and Client Customer Service. First impressions of any camp are made when the customer or visitor opens the door and steps inside. Reporting to the Camp Manager, the Clerk-Commissary position is a non-supervisory role, responsible for providing customer service to clients and employees in regards to site accommodation and commissary services throughout ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Greet all incoming clients and employees courteously and professionally upon guest arrival. 2. Check In all arrivals by distribution and collection of all necessary paperwork for guest registration and room assignment. 3. Enter all registration information and data entry into the Camp Manager database and other computer programs to check in and check out employees and clients. 4. Perform all required filing and data entry required by Management. 5. Answer all incoming calls in a friendly and pleasant manner. Receive, check and re-direct all incoming and outgoing faxes and electronic mail. 6. Prepare correspondence for courier pick-up; to arrange for courier pick-up and to ensure that office has adequate courier and general office supplies at all times. 7. Provide assistance to Camp Manager with the preparation of all documents (signage, staff changes, and correspondence) and reports as required. 8. Update TV boards and Weather Reports daily. 9. Open and close Commissary on scheduled basis. Provide exceptional service to all customers. 10. Operate Commissary POS (Point Of Sale) system as required. Perform daily cash outs and floats at the end of each shift. 11. Order and stock inventory as required. Complete stock inventory on a weekly basis. 12. Ensure that the Commissary, Office, and Front Reception areas are kept in a tidy and presentable manner at all times, clear of workplace hazards.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Provide support to cleaning staff in a friendly, professional manner. Clarify any questions regarding work assignment and relay any concerns to Camp Manager. 2. Assist with the shut-down of each ARAMARK facility when required. This will include, but is not limited to: inventory reports, overall cleaning duties. 3. Comply with all WHMIS, HACCP, and Food Safe standards. 4. Any other duties as assigned by Chef, Field Supervisor, Human Resources or Operations Manager.
STAFF SUPERVISORY/MANAGEMENT RESPONSIBILITIES:

FINANCIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
Clerk-Commissary employees may be required to handle cash on a daily basis.
INTERACTION WITH PATRONS AND PUBLIC:
The Clerk-Commissary provides respectful and courteous service to all ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services clients and employees.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Clerk-Commissary employees are required to perform a variety of physical duties within the position. A list of general physical requirements is provided below:
• Must be able to lift, carry, or pull up to 50 lbs. • Ability to climb ladders, step stools, or stairs • Do a combination of standing, walking, squatting, kneeling or sitting. • Ability to perform repetitive hand work, which requires full use of both hands. • Ability to work with arms above shoulder height.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
All Clerk Commissary employees are required to work on a rotational schedule. Hours worked will transpire during weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. This position may be required to work split shifts. Clerk-Commissary employees generally work in a very remote location where there is limited access to and from the ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services facility with extended travel to and from site. Travel to and from site will be provided by ARAMARK. Clerk-Commissary employees primarily work in an indoor environment.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Clerk-Commissary employees must possess good communication, interpersonal and organization skills. 2. Must possess excellent customer service skills. 3. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision. 4. Candidates must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned. 5. Clerk-Commissary employees must have 1 or more years experience in a related field of work, preferably the camp catering environment. 6. Clerk-Commissary employees must be fluent and literate in the English language. 7. Knowledge of computer skills mandatory. Intermediate knowledge of MS Word and MS Excel and electronic mail is required. 8. Knowledge of Camp Manager Database program and retail POS (Point of Sale) programs a definite asset. 9. WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification is mandatory. 10. First Aid certification is an asset. 11. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), Basic, and Advanced Food Safe training job or site specific.
