JOB TITLE: CAMP ATTENDANT – LARGE CAMP DEPARTMENT: HOUSING DIRECT REPORT: HEAD CAMP ATTENDANT (CAMP MANAGER IF HCA N/A)
PURPOSE:
A big part of ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services is our housekeeping and camp maintenance. The importance of a clean and well-maintained camp should never be underestimated. First impressions of any camp are made when the customer or visitor opens the door and steps inside. Even before that, as the camp is approached from the road, the general condition of the lease site and exterior of the camp are influencing the visitor’s impressions of us. Reporting to the Head Camp Attendant (Camp Manager if Head Camp Attendant not applicable), the Camp Attendant position is a non-supervisory role, responsible for maintaining a clean and safe work environment throughout ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services facilities.
PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Meet daily with Head Camp Attendant or Camp Manager to discuss any duties or requirements pertaining to work area. 2. Clean and maintain all living areas of ARAMARK facilities, including the front entrance, sleeping quarters, hallways, washrooms, recreation rooms and utility rooms. 3. If there are clients in separate trailers, ask each client when, and how often, they would like each trailer cleaned (during meal hours is usually a good time to do this). 4. Make beds and clean all aspects of rooms daily. This will include, but is not limited too: emptying garbage containers, dusting, vacuuming of all carpeted areas and washing of non-carpeted areas, changing linens weekly or as required, wiping out closets, wiping off window sills, walls, mirrors, desk, chair, vents, blinds, around the light switch plates, and door handles. 5. Clean and sanitize washrooms after each shift change (twice daily). This will include, but is not limited to: laundering towels after each shift change, providing clean containers with plastic liners for soiled towels and washcloths, washing all shower stalls, toilets, urinals, walls, light switch plates, and mirrors. Ensure shower grate is clean and remove any build up around drains. Restock paper towels and toilet paper as required. 6. Complete daily bed counts after all rooms have been cleaned and sanitized to confirm camp accounting procedures. 7. Clean linen from living areas (bedding, towels) and kitchen (dish towels, aprons) as required. Lint screens are to be cleaned from dryers after each cycle. 8. Keep an accurate record of bedding on site by completing the laundry slips properly. Store all laundry items securely, so as to discourage theft and/or loss. Ensure that all dirty laundry is returned to ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services on a weekly basis by grocery truck. Report all shortages of bedding to the Chef. 9. Keep an inventory of housekeeping and cleaning supplies to ensure there is an adequate stock of these items. DO NOT OVERSTOCK. Assist Chef with the ordering of all cleaning and bedding supplies. 10. When using cleaners, use amount of cleaner specified on the container to comply with safety procedures. 11. Empty and disinfect all garbage containers.
SECONDARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Assist with the shut-down of each ARAMARK facility when required. This will include, but is not limited to: inventory reports, overall cleaning duties. 2. Observe and report any repairs or damages in work area to Head Camp Attendant. 3. Comply with all WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System), HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), and Food Safe standards. 4. Comply with all ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services policies and procedures. 5. Any other duties as assigned by Head Camp Attendant, Camp Manager, Human Resources or Operations Manager.

The Camp Attendant provides respectful and courteous service to all ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services clients and employees. Interaction and communication with clients and employees may be carried out by telephone or in person.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Camp Attendants are required to perform a variety of physical duties within the position. A list of general physical requirements is provided below:
• Must be able to lift, carry, or pull up to 50 lbs. • Ability to climb ladders or stairs. • Do a combination of standing, walking, squatting, kneeling or sitting. • Ability to perform repetitive hand work, which requires full use of both hands. • Ability to work with arms above shoulder height.
WORKING CONDITIONS AND ENVIRONMENT:
All Camp Attendants are required to work on a rotational schedule. Hours worked will transpire during weekdays, weekends, and general holidays. This position may be required to work split shifts. Camp Attendants generally work in a very remote location where there is limited access to and from the ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services facility with extended travel to and from site. Travel to and from site will be provided by ARAMARK. Camp Attendants will be required to perform duties in indoor and outdoor working conditions. Camp Attendants primarily work alone with little or no supervision.
KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS REQUIRED:
1. Camp Attendants must possess good communication, interpersonal and organization skills. 2. Must possess excellent customer service skills. 3. Ability to work effectively and efficiently with little or no supervision. 4. Camp Attendants must be in good health and physical condition to perform duties assigned. 5. Camp Attendants must have 1 or more years experience in a related field of work, preferably the camp catering environment. 6. Camp Attendants must be fluent and literate in the English language. 7. WHMIS (Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System) certification is mandatory. 8. First Aid certification is an asset. 9. HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Point), Basic, and Advanced Food Safe training job or site specific. 10. Knowledge of all ARAMARK Remote Workplace Services policies and procedures.
